What we store

NextFic stores ring names, descriptions, story names, Royal Road destinations, member order and status, and creation and update times. Ring information and active stories appear on public ring pages.

Your private management link

Admin keys and session tokens are stored only as cryptographic hashes. Managing a ring uses an essential session cookie that lasts up to seven days. We collect no email addresses and offer no account recovery.

Reading without profiles

The application does not intentionally store IP addresses, user agents, referrers, individual click histories, or reader profiles. It installs no advertising trackers and uses no third-party analytics.

Infrastructure and anti-bot checks

Cloudflare processes requests to run and protect the service and may maintain infrastructure-level logs and metrics. Turnstile runs on ring creation to prevent automated abuse. This is not a claim that no infrastructure provider processes personal data.

You leave this service for a Royal Road fiction page, where Royal Road’s own policies apply. Optional donation and source-code links lead to their respective providers.

Retiring a ring

Retired records are retained so published links stay recognizable. Retiring is not deletion. Never put sensitive personal information in a ring name, story name, or description.
